How do Prints borders work?

Borders differ depending upon the type of Print.

  • Photo Prints do not have a border unless one is designated or designed by the artist.
  • Fine Art Paper Prints, when ordered unframed, come with an additional 1.5" white border to allow for framing room. Therefore, a 12" x 18" image will have an overall size of 15" x 21" with the border included.
  • The Gallery style Frame adds a full 2" border, so a 12" x 18" image will have an overall Print area of 16" x 22".
  • Block framed works do not have a border unless one is designated or designed by the artist; if so, it will be visible in the Print preview.
  • Wrapped and framed Canvas Prints do not have a border unless one is designated or designed by the artist.
  • Rolled Canvas Prints contain an approximately 1.75" border added to the edges of the image. That space can be used to wrap the image onto a stretcher bar, so that the sides will be white and clean.
